Foyer Gallery 2014 – Artist’s Pick

Artist’s Pick is the theme for the current exhibition at the Foyer Gallery which just got underway today. It is a group show featuring art and photography pieces by most or all of the 24 artists of the Foyer Gallery. Each member presents two pieces of work in this show. The poster shows one of my images called Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’, which is the name of the plant (third image across the top). This image was taken in Waterperry Gardens in the UK.

In this show, both of my contributions are done as framed canvas prints. I’m really happy with the results. You should come by the gallery and see how well you might fill an empty space on your walls.

Ottawa Magazine Champlain Bridge Photo

Further to my earlier post, Ottawa Magazine also licensed a second aerial image of the Champlain Bridge which they placed at the centrefold of the same May 2014 issue. This is an aerial panorama created by stitching several images taken during the photo session.

I have included the bridge in a number of kite aerial photography sessions. From this session back in 2008 I have additional images that can be viewed in the Champlain Bridge and Island Park Drive – KAP 2008-51 gallery on my website.

Foyer Gallery 2014 – Dreams of Spring

I’m participating in the next exhibition at the Foyer Gallery. It is a group show with the theme Dreams of Spring and features work by most or all of the 24 artists of the Foyer Gallery. Each member presents several pieces of work depending on size and I will be showing four spring related photographs. The poster shows one of my images called Bachelor’s Buttons Over Creeping Jenny (2nd row, 1st image). This image was taken in our front garden in early spring. Just when the tulips are finishing the Bachelor’s Buttons take over. The yellow background is caused by the ground cover called Creeping Jenny which is yellow in the spring and turns green later in the year. Throwing the Creeping Jenny out of focus gives a dreamy effect to this Dreams of Spring image.
