Hartwell Locks are on the Rideau Canal system, just upstream from Dow’s Lake in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are next to Carleton University and the Central Canada Experimental Farm of Agriculture Canada. Many commuting students (bike, skates or on foot) have to cross these locks. The locks throughout the system are manually operated. The Rideau Waterway system extends from Ottawa to Kingston, Ontario.
These photographs were taken using Kite Aerial Photography (KAP).
