KAP 2008-32: Victoria Island, Canadian Rivers Day, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. June 8, 2008

This session was planned in order to take pictures of the Canadian Rivers Day – 4th Ottawa Riverkeeper Celebration. This is a guided paddle on the Ottawa River from Victoria Island to Petrie Island. I contribute photography, both aerial and on-the-ground images, as a volunteer with Ottawa Riverkeeper. More information regarding the Ottawa Riverkeeper can be found at ottawariverkeeper.ca. Several of these images have been published on the Ottawa Riverkeeper Website as part of their Canadian Rivers Day report.

These images were taken in the vicinity of Victoria Island on the Ottawa River, near downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. After the guided paddle left the area I continued to photograph the surrounding area. These photographs were taken using kite aerial photography (KAP).

This is one of the channels of the river on the south side of Victoria Island. You can see the kayak slalom course at the far end. The kite line is also visible in this picture.
